Protocol No. 9
Protocol magazine is published annually by architecture students of the Berlin University of the Arts. The 9th issue focuses on the topic of Fehler (error/mistake) and is entirely printed in the “iris” technique. Three spot colours were mixed on press to achieve natural gradients for all images and text. Additionally, a custom-type modification was developed for this issue. Based on Imago, a typeface by Günter Gerhard Lange released in 1982, the overshoot on the round glyphs was reversed, intentionally exaggerating an optical flaw. The project was created together with Nora Hollstein and was exhibited at the 28th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno, 2018.
